From tobacco to trees and everything in between

by Anood Al-Samerai on 10 September, 2014

It’s been a busy couple of evenings with the Overview and Scrutiny Committee on Monday and the Keetons Tenants and Residents Association last night. My colleagues and I have been successful in forcing the council to look again at the control freak neighbourhood planning decision. We also pushed the Labour Leader of the council on school places, compensation for residents in regeneration projects, council investment in tobacco companies and children missing from care.

At the residents’ association there was real frustration about rubbish collections, trees and dog fouling. These things might sound small but they are such basic fundamental things that the council must be better at. I am following up all the issues this week and always happy to be alerted to as help with more.
