As Liberal Democrats, we believe that local people should make their own decisions about their communities. That’s why we introduced community councils and why we gave them funding and decision making powers. We believe that you know your street best.

Over the next few weeks there are a couple of Lib Dem introduced opportunities for residents to make a real difference in our area. Firstly, the council is making decisions about which potholes and pavements to prioritise. Local councillors already have some suggestions, but we want to make sure we are properly representing the views of all residents. So please do let us know, over the next week, if you have any specific streets you would like us to campaign to improve.

The other way you can make a difference is to make a Cleaner, Greener, Safer application. This is a great way to achieve community projects, clean up grot spots or improve lighting.

The closing date for applications is Friday 7 November 2014. Apply online or via application forms which are available in libraries, leisure centres and one stop shops.
